Multi-Day Northern California Engagement Session
When it comes to engagement sessions, I’m all about giving you the space to relax, enjoy the moment, and capture memories in meaningful places.
A Two-Day Engagement Session in Northern California: More Time, More Memories
When it comes to engagement sessions, I’m all about giving you the space to relax, enjoy the moment, and capture memories in meaningful places. That’s why I loved the idea of a two-day engagement session with Cheyenne and Devin in Northern California. It meant twice the possibilities, more time to explore, and the chance to create stunning photos without feeling rushed.
Why Choose a Two-Day Engagement Session?
Engagement sessions are a perfect way to get comfortable in front of the camera and celebrate your love in a more relaxed setting. A two-day session takes it one step further. With more time, you get to explore multiple locations, capture a variety of moods, and have a truly personalized experience. No need to squeeze it all into a single afternoon—this way, the focus is on you two and the places that hold meaning for your relationship.
I love the slower-paced, multi-day schedule for shoots like this because it gives me the chance to take my time and really soak in the moments. When I’m not racing against the clock, the photos become more natural and more meaningful.
The Best of Northern California
For Cheyenne and Devin, their engagement session was all about the places they loved most. From the misty shores of Kirby Cove in the San Francisco Bay to the sweeping views of Mount Tamalpais and the serene redwoods, I captured moments that felt completely authentic to them. Whether it was the soft, golden light by the water or the majestic stillness of the towering trees, every location felt like it could’ve been pulled from a dream.
Day One:
We started our adventure at Kirby Cove, around 3pm, to catch the best afternoon light. After hiking about a mile down a steep access trail, we reached the secluded beach — just us and the stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge. The fog came and went, but we made the most of the weather, mixing all the variations of pretty light while sipping on some beer. Having the beach all to ourselves was a sweet surprise, as I had assumed it would be pretty crowded!
From there, we headed up to the summit of Mount Tamalpais for some golden hour magic. While there were a few other photo sessions happening, we managed to find a peaceful overlook where the late afternoon sun lit up the landscape perfectly. It was the kind of moment you want to soak in, so I sent them literally running for the hills to capture my favorite “little people, big landscape” shots.
The day ended with dinner in Sausalito at the charming Hook Fish Co., where we could unwind, enjoy the fresh seafood, and chat about all the beautiful moments we’d just captured.
Day Two:
We started the second day in the redwoods around midday, admiring the majestic trees on the main trails. Cheyenne and Devin brought their pup, Stevie, along so we stuck to the pet-friendly paved areas which were still awesome. The stillness and grandeur of the forest created the perfect backdrop for the final stretch of their engagement session. More tiny humans, big scenery moments made me very happy.
We ended the day with a drive down the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH 101). The golden fields along the coast were calling our name, so we stopped to explore at one of the trailheads. I played around with my film-sim and film cameras, we hiked a bit more, and just enjoyed the freaking beauty of California. It was the perfect way to wrap up our time together.
More Time for Connection
A longer, multi-day engagement session means more time to connect and just have fun with each other. Whether you’re sharing a laugh, stealing a quiet moment, or strolling hand in hand. Without the pressure of a single day’s timeline, you can relax and be yourselves so that real moments can unfold. I’ll offer a little bit of guidance to make sure you’re comfortable and looking your best, but don’t worry—it’ll never feel cringy or forced. Just you, your partner, and the beautiful surroundings, with plenty of time to enjoy the experience.
Traveling for Your Engagement Session
One of the things I love about engagement sessions is the chance to travel to new places. Whether it’s a local spot or somewhere further away, I’m always excited to go wherever your love story takes us. With Cheyenne and Devin, I loved returning to my home state of California to explore places I’d never been, making this session one to remember. If you’re dreaming of a destination engagement session — whether it’s across the country or just a little outside of town — let’s make it happen. The slower pace of a multi-day shoot means I can truly take my time and capture your love story wherever you are.
